Goodly morning all... Smiley

The old girl is down in the commons room with the usual bunch of nattering nannies.... Grin

Well I have been doing my Snow Dance as we did not have snow for Christmas Day and that is just not right... Smiley

Yesterday there were lots of small boats on the river fishing I suppose.

Well this morning I was quite surprised to see the river frozen over.

Probably not safe enough to walk on yet and it is still open at the bay which is open water.

The outside temperature right now is Minus Seventeen Celsius (-17C) without the windchill factor.

Hopefully some snow tonight and tomorrow... Smiley

We will go for our walk as soon as the old girl gets back, will be interesting to see how many others will be out and about.

Have a great day all... Wink

Cheers...Happy Landings...Doug

I've been on my knees thanking the supreme being that I have indoor jobs this winter, the first time in seven years. Although until this week it has been very mild weather.  Cool

The temperature in my back garden at the moment (Mid Day) is 8*C, far too cold for me to venture outside, and I am shivering in my Living Room desperately trying (and failing) to maintain a temperature of 18*C, with my costly electric fuel bill looming ahead!

I thank goodness that there has been no snow and ice so far this Winter, and I just hope it stays that way!

I can well do without snow, and all the cold that brings to my old bones!
Snow brings misery to me. I become cold and house-bound.

I am designed as a warm weather creature... Wink...!

Paul...looking forward to Summer...and warmth!

Doug: If, and when, it snows over here, I'll arrange to get it all shipped over to you!... Wink... Wink...!

It has been pouring with rain all day in the Chilterns... so we stayed in doors and had a massive party to celebrate Wee Mans Nameday. And what a fun day it has been... I've OD'd on chocolate cake Grin Grin Grin

When it comes to the depths of Winter, you cant beat a drop of rain in the Chilterns...
...trust me... Wink... Wink...!

Rain I can cope with, but Snow is something which keeps me house-bound with my Motor-bike. Fortunately, so far, I've managed to get out and about for my shopping, with the absence of snow!... Smiley...!

I don't want any more snow....ever!... Angry...!

'sno(w) joke... Wink..!

Paul... Roll Eyes...!

I just remember New Years Eve last year when the fuel pump on the Megane gave up and I raced indoors and got changed into my leathers and prayed after 4 weeks under a cover in the outdoors that the snow hadn't stuffed up my Kwaka. So leaving the house 20 mins behind schedule....
Turn on fuel tap, full choke, key in ignition, thumb started button. After exactly 2 seconds the might ZX-7R fired into life, my exact words inside my lid in the cold were "Thank f*** I brought Japanese!"
Needless to say the bit on the M1 just passing the final service station into London cranked over in the cold and wet and seeing 120mph on the speedo is neither here nor there! I got to work bang on time. God I love Kwakas Cool
I did ride home like a big gurls blouse and praying my buttocks would eventually unclench Grin Grin Grin

Thanks for the comments folks... Smiley

To many of us here in the colony it just does not seem like Christmas without:
-cold weather
-snow...snow...snow
-out door ice rinks
-tobogganing and sledding
-down hill and cross country skiing
-hanging icicles
-hockey
-skating
-ice fishing
-ice boat sailing
-flying aircraft off skis
-skidooing and snowmobile skiing
-snow ball fights
-roasting chestnuts over an open outdoor fire at a skating
party
-rum and eggnog
-Christmas Cake and the smell of wonderful cooking in the
kitchen
-Carollers
-folks calling out Merry Christmas
-building snowmen or snowpersons and ice forts
-looking at all the frosted trees just as the suns rays shine
on them
-sitting quietly with all the house lights off and watching the
Christmas Tree as it's lights twinkle
-driving around and looking at all the homes decorated with
Christmas Lights and Themes

That is just a few things we like to do and see at Christmas, one can really enjoy the winter season if they want to... Wink
