Garmin is ceasing production of the GNS530

http://www.avweb.com/avwebbiz/news/Garmin_Discontinues_GNS530_205670-1.html

I know ya'll are thinking 'and?', well I guarantee all of you have used that GPS more than you might realize...it's what the  default GPS in FS9 and FSX is based on.

Lets all have a moment of silence...

With the introduction of the new touch screen displays by Garmin, the 430/530 lineup was bound to end.  Same thing happened to the 296/396/496 series of handhelds, although those I have talked to about the new handhelds were less than pleased.  Fortunately Garmin is pledging to continue supporting the 430/530 series for the foreseeable future, especially considering just how many of those units are out there.

On the plus side, as those "have to have it" people upgrade their panels to the touchscreens, the used 430/530 market should get cheaper.
