Hi guys, it’s been awhile since I’ve posted any of my edits so I thought I’d provide you with 4 edits I’ve done over the years starting in 2007 on the sinking of the KM Bismarck. Actually the Bismarck was not sunk by any of the torpedoes that struck her hull due to a virtually impregnable “torpedo belt” that surrounded the ship, but incapacitated by a torpedo dropped by the 810 Sqd that jammed the ship’s rudder leaving it unable to maneuver. The ship was ultimately sunk by naval gunfire several days after the air action depicted. The Fairey “Swordfish” attacking the Bismarck consisted of both the 810 Sqd from the HMS Victorious and the 825 Sqd off the carrier HMS Ark Royal. The model shown are all from Screenshots of the Mark I version by AlphaSim. In the first pic I used a photograph of an artist’s painting of the Bismarck for my background that had been placed in the public domain. With pic #2, created in ’08, I left the Bismarck to the viewer’s imagination and simply depict the AC dropping its payload into the ship’s wake. I created pic #3 in 2010, but was never totally pleased with the results which led to pic #4. All of the backgrounds shown are from photographs. The Bismarck reflected in pics 3 & 4 are from screenshots of models of the ship. All of the blending, lighting effects and special effects were created in photoshop. Thanks for looking guys. Enjoy…………. Ziggy

Thought I saw that elsewhere. Sad to hear that SSW has shut down, great place to find lots of great edits.

Excellent work Tom, never better.
If God intended aircraft engines to have horizontally opposed engines, Pratt and Whitney would have made them that way.

Very good news! A lot of the stuff I learned, I learned from this site! Just re-registered.
My specs... A hard drive, motherboard, graphics card, some memory, a keyboard, mouse, and monitor - in other words, nothing special.
