Thanks, Doug... Smiley...

Autumn is a pretty time in England, but it is also a depressing time that reminds me that Winter is just around the corner, with its bitter cold, snow and ice!
Cold weather has never suited me, and the past few years I have been spending the 6 long Winter months huddled up indoors, trying to keep warm....(It never works!).

Like a Butterfly, I need sunshine and warmth!

(Probably why I spend so much time Sim flying in Southern California!).... Cool...!

Paul.... Wink...!

Hi Paul... Smiley

Your winter is much like ours here in the southern part of the province, it is cold, wet and damp.

However it can be one of the most beautiful seasons also if you are the outdoors type.

Flying off skis, wheel/skis, skating, hockey, snowmobile riding, snowmobile skiing, snow ball fights, ice fishing and sitting around the campfire on a log with a warm toddy telling tall tales. Smiley

Winter camping is even better, no bugs.

Now when I was flying in the north of the province it was a much nicer winter.  Sure it was cold but it was a dry cold and there was much more snow for flying off skis or snowmobiling, etc. etc.

Oh but now I also am feeling the winter dampness during the winter months and I find myself inside more than outside... Smiley

And while I have your attention, just the other day someone showed the old girl a picture of a boat/barge above ground in I believe a canal.
Would those canals or the river canal freeze up during the winter?

Cheers...Happy Landings...Doug

Hello Doug... Smiley...!

In recent times, the Winter weather has not resulted in the Rivers and Canals freezing over in my part of the country, fortunately (for me!).

With Humans, being warm-blooded creatures, I could/can never understand their preference to living, and staying, in high, Northern and Southern Hemispheres!
England is far too cold and uncomfortable for me now, during the Winter months, which lasts for 50% of the year!
(50% of my life is now spent locked tightly indoors against the cold).
I could never understand the residents in the TV Series; "Ice Road Truckers", and "Ice Pilots", preference to suffering in such cold conditions, in Alaska and Canada!
I can only assume that the bodies of residents in cold climates are specially adapted to deter the cold.

I need warmth and comfort....(Like Sharon Stone, and a nice Beef Stew!... Wink...)...
..and a zero heating bill!

Paul... Wink...!
