Hi Guys and Gals.

Here's the thing. I'm sure I've heard somewhere that commercial airlines are supposed to keep below 250 mph (or is it kias?) below 10,000 feet but on nearly every trip I've taken where it's been possible to monitor the flight info it has not been done. What is the correct procedure? I've always tried to comply with the "rule" in my simulated flights but am I going wrong somewhere?

Cheers in advance.

Zaphod.

Generally 250KIAS is standard below 10,000ft, but pilots can request higher speed, depending on the location/airspace/circumstances. It also depends what the in flight display to the pax is showing (mph/TAS/IAS/KmH etc) Smiley

Thanks for the quick replies guys.
I always thought it was a hard and fast rule.
Less stress in my flying. I love it.
