I've been looking for a new PC for FSX.  Anyone know of a good system, incl. monitor off the shelf for less than say, $1400?

I saw an HP at Sam's but don't know how reliable they are.  It had 1G dedcated video.

Any other suggestions?  I'd love to see a screenshot if you have a similar system.

Thanks.

im a tech guy and hp,e machines computers like that  are great for general common stuff,

if your looking to spend any where under 1400 then you can get a great computer if you just want a decent computer that can do general stuff and play a couple games you can get it for 200-500 bucks.

you dont need a great computer to run fsx

Brand of OEM doesn't really matter. It is a HP shell, but the insides of it are what matter. Those will be down to the likes of Intel, AMD, nVidia, etc.

HP will just provide the support, and extra useless software (they all do!).

Post the link to the computer in mention. Being a HP, and having 1GB dedicated video memory means nothing without context. You'd also be better off asking in the hardware forums too.

Ever since when? Shocked

Maybe you wanted to say you don't need a GREAT computer, as in one with a pedigree, but a FAST one no matter who put it together? Or did you mean you don't need a great computer to run FSX BADLY? Huh

If so, you'd be right (on both accounts). Smiley

If so. Tongue

That is the first time I've heard anyone say that. It's almost refreshing, almost. And where I live it's a challenge to even find a decent graphics card for 2 to 5 hundred bucks.  Tongue

I would have to say that FSX runs much better than I expected on my comparatively low-end PC. If I'd believed all the doom & gloom merchants I would never have tried it.
