Good morning all... Smiley

I am using a new Samsung 23 inch for the main monitor and an older 19 inch ACER for a second monitor.

FSX and Windows 7

While in flight in FSX I can move the GPS from the default aircraft onto the second monitor and watch the progress of the flight.
I can even resize the GPS unit.

I can not get the GPS unit from my Payware Aerosoft DHC-2 Beaver to move to the second monitor.
Perhaps because it is Payware...not sure...

The Map Screen will move onto the second monitor but when I click okay or go back to the main monitor I lose the Map Screen.
Not sure why or if there is a fix for this.

I have also tried:

ALT + ENTER to put FSX in Windowed Mode but that does not help either...

Comments and advice is most welcome... Wink

Cheers...Happy Landings...Doug

give me just a few minutes, litterally. maybe 30 at the most, and I will get you a GPS that you can open using SHIFT+1 to be able to open it and then move it.

@10:18 : Just installed the GPS unit in the hangar, now taxiing out to make sure the wire connections are correct before I take it out and ship it to you.  Keep your eye on the thread, be back in a few min.

will this work for you ??? GPS is "UNDOCKED"  on the 2nd monitor (to the left).

...

cropping cut the bottom of the pic off, but the whole GPS WILL SHOW!! dont worry.  I dragged the edges of the GPS so that it would fill the 1024x768 2nd monitor.

If it will.

copy/paste the below to your FSX AEROSOFT STANDARD WHEELS DHC-2 PANEL.CFG

[Window Titles]

Window00=GPS

[Window00]
size_mm=456,378
window_size=0.5
position=8
BACKGROUND_COLOR=0,0,0
VISIBLE=0
ident=GPS_PANEL

gauge00=fs9gps!gps_500,            0,0

Just the Highlighted area and put it under [WINDOW TITLES]

SHIFT+1 will open it, yes it will mess up your main monitor for just a moment, but UNDOCK the GPS and move it to your other monitor, and your main monitor will be fine and go back to normal.   (may or may not need FSX in windowed mode, mine always is, so that is why you see the blue bar at the top of my FSX)

Well shall try this out to see what happens and let you know.

Do you know anything about the MAP Screen and why it will not go into the second monitor and stay?

the map screen is not "designed" to stay open once you click OK and go back to the sim.  kinda like AIRCRAFT / REALISM SETTINGS, OPTIONS/SETTINGS/DISPLAY.  They are temporary screens.

if you do want a "moving map" that acts like, and looks a little like the map screen, get PLAN-G (freeware) or FS Commander (payware / unlimited 30min trial-just close it then reopen it)

Try this Doug, you might like it. I've been using it a long time now and feel lost without it. It's a free download and you can put it on your second monitor every time before you even start your flight.

It's the GMap for FSX 2.0 Browser edition in the right hand column, about the sixth one down.

Good evening all... Smiley

After much much coaching by Capt. Propwash I now have a working GPS for the Payware Beaver I can use in the 2nd monitor.

Now all I got to do is get the Link Larry "Patchz" sent me working and I shall be all set for awhile... Wink
