Thanks.....it actually works using the [smoke system] in the cfg. file. Just add the
Barnstorm
 effect to your Effects folder and add ......

[SMOKESYSTEM]
smoke.0=-8.50, 0.00, 0.00, fx_Barnstorm.fx

....to your aircraft cfg file Wink

It's a FS9 effect....it will work in FSX though Wink

I did one similar to #2 back in March of '09 without having benefit of the addon effect. Roll Eyes (see shot #2) It took me a while to find the thread and I had to upload the shots again as they had gotten lost on the old server.
