Good morning all... Smiley

Most military units will combine several tasks for the student to complete during a training exercise and this was no exception.

FSX and Vista
FS Water Configurator
HDE Clouds
3D Lights
Scenery is from "Home of Flight Ontario"

http://flightontario.com/index.html

British Commonwealth Air Training Program

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/British_Commonwealth_Air_Training_Plan

Location: No 9 EFTS R1 Willoughby "CNF9" Niagara Falls,
              Canada
EFTS is Elementary Flight Training School
Aircraft:  Fairchild PT-19B by Tim Conrad
Available right here at Simviation Downloads
              Vintage Section

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fairchild_PT-19

The Pt-19 was to replace the De-Havilland Tiger Moth in Royal Canadian Air Force service and was known as the PT-26 Cornell to RCAF crews.
It was not until the De-Havilland DHC-1 "Chipmunk" came along that the De-Havilland Tiger Moth was replaced...

There is no PT-26 Cornell available for FSX... Smiley

United States Army Air Corps...

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_Army_Air_Forces

Season: Fall and the flight is at Dusk
Mostly all Freeware right here at Simviation... Wink
Click on Picture for better view... Smiley

Having paper work completed, log book signed, having shared some comradery...time to get on with the training... Smiley
...

Shots 2, 3, 4...leaving the circuit...going back to the United States of America to the Lakeland School of Aeronautics which trained United States Army Air Corps aviators which was I believe at Niagara Falls USA but can find little information about this school as it sounds like everything moved to the State of Florida...any information would be most appreciated... Nice pics, Doug. Makes me remember how much I enjoyed my pilot traing (Mostly!  Wink ). I see you're having at least as much fun with the BCATP as I am with the F-4 right now.  Smiley

Hi Pierre...that was a departure...and thanks for the comments... Wink

Thanks GlobalHobo, they are doing some fine work at The Home of Flight Ontario and the BCATP.

I believe FS2004 has a lot more than what FSX has but they are working on it and I hear that there will be something done with the A1 traffic also.

There is somewhere around 150 airports available with the BCATP I think...would have to look again but there is some fine detail.

I am just hoping that all their hard work will be compatible with the new Microsoft Flight when that becomes available.

The scenery would be much better with the Payware Ultimate Terrain...etc also, but I do not have Payware at the moment as I find more than enough right here in the Simviation Download Section to keep me out of mischief... Grin

Again thanks for your comments... Wink

Good afternoon all... Smiley

I have been using the BCATP "British Commonwealth Air Training Program" airfields for the last couple of screenshots but that is not the only program that is offered by the Home of Flight Ontario.

For FS2004 there are many many airports and FSX now has six or so with great scenery.  These are the airports as they are today so one can use them or travel back to the Second World War era and use the BCATP Airfields, they are all Freeware... Wink

Great shots Doug Cool Cool

"Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of Earth and danced the skies on laughter silvered wings. Sunward I've climbed and joined the tumbling mirth of sun split clouds.....and done a hundred things you have never dreamed of.....wheeled and soared and swung high in the sunlit silence. Hovering there, I've chased the shouting wind along and flung my eager craft through footless halls of air.

Up, up the long, delerious, burning blue I've topped the wind swept heights with easy grace where never Lark, nor even Eagle flew. While with silent lifting of mind I've trod the high untrespassed sanctity of space, put out my hand and touched the face of god"

Great shots Doug. Smiley

At least now you know you can have a cot in the barracks instead of having to go to the corner of the barn. Roll Eyes

If God intended aircraft engines to have horizontally opposed engines, Pratt and Whitney would have made them that way.

Thanks Larry

Several of us were sitting in my wee little shed on my designated parking area in the underground garage yesterday.

The huge door was open as they had washed the floor and two dogs slipped in.  They walked up to us and growled showing their teeth...we stood up and grabbed the chairs but they ran out just as security showed up.

None of us had seen the dogs before...

All I have in my wee little shed is equipment to wash our own vehicles and several lawn chairs...will have to get a large ball bat or something and leave down there.

First time something like that has happened and it will be brought up at a meeting I think...
