I recently downloaded the 169 Liveries Collection Pack for Default B737-800 V3. Great job and many thanks to the folks involved in making that available. I noticed that it actually gives the pilot voice and ATC the ability to audibly say the callsign. But when I add callsigns for other aircraft that I have DL into the airlines.cfg file and in the aircraft.cfg file the program won't say the name. Is that a function built into the texture file for the livery? Or am I just missing something?

To have ATC speak a callsign:
In the aircraft.cfg file you should edit (or add if not present) 2 lines in the [fltsim.n] section of the aircraft variation you are wanting to configure.
atc_airline= <--the callsign goes here
atc_flight_number= <--enter a flight number.
ATC will not use the callsign if there is no flight number
.
The callsign-The callsign must be one that the ATC 'voice pack' is programmed to recognizes. Go here to see a list of FS2004 ATC recognized callsigns.
http://homepages.mcb.net/bones//Flight_Sim/data/FS_Airline_Codes.htm
.
The same callsigns work in FSX. There may be a few additional callsigns in FSX. Use the 'ATC Callsigns' from column 1. Spelling, including spaces, is critical. Upper/lower case is not.
As second method of assigning callsigns is from the Select Aircraft>Details window. In the 'ATC Information' section you can select from the 'Airline call sign' dropdown list. This is where the airlines.cfg comes into play. It's ONLY purpose is to add ATC recognized callsigns to the dropdown list. It is not necessary to have a callsign in the airlines.cfg file for the callsign to work from the aircraft.cfg file. You cannot create a new callsign simply by adding it to the airlines.cfg file.
Here is a topic that discusses the airlines.cfg file and the FSX 'voice pack' -

Thanks Dave. I guess it was just too much to hope that I could put in an airline I used to work for that is now defunct and have it actually say the name. Oh well.

Don't give up yet....
What is/was the airline's call sign?
It's possible it is included in the EditVoicePackX update to the default voice pack. It adds several hundred call signs.
If not, new call signs can be created using EditVoicePackX.
Dave.

I actually saw a thread where you had posted about that so I played with it and was able to create it. The airline was Renown Aviation and the call sign I believe was just Renown. I was able to make it by clipping "Reno" and "Go Around" sound clips.

Good job...
I found a wiki that confirmed the callsign was Renown.
Are there textures available for Renown (Electra or Convair)?

Thanks, and no, I had to make textures for my L188 and my CV440. I posted the L188 here somewhere.
