I recently downloaded and ran FS BOOSTER to try and improve performance. I was getting between 17 and 24 FPS with things about medium. After I ran the booster, now no matter what I do, the frame rate is stuck at 3 or 4.
FS9 and everything else on my system runs fine.
Did I maybe mess up the FSX.cfg file?
My system is not new. A Pentiium 4 at 3.2 GHz with 1 gb ram and a Nvidia GE Force 5200 graphis card w/ 128 mb memory. The system ran fairly decently before.
Any ideas.  Thanks

I had a similar report on mine, my graphics card is a 1gb. Mine dropped from rates around 25 ish to say only 8 but it looks great after the new graphics card was fitted and there is no lag or delay/stuttering  in the display which you may expect at low frame rates.

Is yours visualy slow?
I just ignored it.
But i did get rid of the booster, it didn't make any difference but also prevented some apps/addons from running.

May the Mynd be with you.
So far my number of landings either passenger or pilot equal my number of takeoffs, but that is due to change Smiley

Thanks for the reply. My frame rate is also about 8 fpd but mine is stuttery and slow. I also know that that I had higher frame rates at higher settings before I ran the FSX BOOSTER. I just may have to uninstall and reinstall the whole thing.

before you uninstall FSX, try deleteing the FSX.CFG that is burried in your computer and then restart FSX to see if that makes a difference.

Thanks. I'll try that. I had a long chat with Microsoft Tech Support and they suggested trying a system restore to before the issue with FSX and that might work.
How does FSX run on your system?
Thanks

of course depending on craft and scenery, i get a stable 21-25 locked at 25, on Medium Settings.  If i crank it hard and full tilt on scenery with an extremely heavy-poly craft... 2-4 FPS

If you want a "booster" program, GOOGLE SEARCH "GAME BOOSTER"  it shuts down background services that your computer really does not need running in the first place, to free up the RAM so that FS can use the ram and processor better.
