Hi there! My problem: I just upgraded from an Sapphire Radeon 4850 to an 5850.

Result: much lower FPS. For example if I was "looking" in the blue sky only, with my old 4850 I had like 70 FPS; with the new one I get 40 FPS max.

Inside Cockpit I used to get 20-25 FPS, now I get 18 Max.

This is very dissappointing, how can I change that?

Hi Ijineda
Mabey FS9 still thinks you have the old card in your computer and it's causing a conflict.
try going in FS9 setup in the display section and see if your new card is in the list and if its highlighted as your new default graffix card.        Just a thought.   Good Luck!

+1^

Also, I'm sure it goes without saying, but even though your old and new cards are both ATI (or AMD now), you should still completely and correctly remove and reinstall the the CCC and drivers.

Specs: Asus Crosshair nForce 590 SLI,
AMD Athlon X2 6400+ w/ZeroTherm BTF90,
4GB G.Skill PI Series DDR2-800,
Sapphire HD4870 512MB,
PC P&C 750 Quad, in a CoolerMaster HAF932

I did uninstall all the old drivers and CCC.

When I looked into my FS9.cfg, I still found the entry for the 4850. I deleted it and relaunched fs9, but the frames were as bad as ever.

Any other hints? Thank you for your help so far!

Sunward I've climbed and joined the tumbling mirth of sun split clouds.....and done a hundred things you have never dreamed of.....wheeled and soared and swung high in the sunlit silence. Hovering there, I've chased the shouting wind along and flung my eager craft through footless halls of air.

Up, up the long, delerious, burning blue I've topped the wind swept heights with easy grace where never Lark, nor even Eagle flew. While with silent lifting of mind I've trod the high untrespassed sanctity of space, put out my hand and touched the face of god"

1. Delete the videodrivers and install the latest ones from the AMD website.

2. Delete fs9.cfg. When you launch the sim again it will regenerate.

In that order.

Those are the only things I can think of.
