I have a new install of Flight Sim X W/Acceleration Pack.  I have a new computer with Win 7. My LogBook stopped adding flights after the 5th flight, is there a fix for that for a non technical guy. Huh

Hi Chaplain,

Couple of things that could be causing it and all the ones I can think of are win 7 related, try setting (at your own risk)  User Access Control to OFF via user accounts in control panel or run FSX as Administrator or what many others do is to install fsx in c:\FSX as an example rather than installing in program files (x86)

I'll check mine is still working as I've ignored it recently.

May the Mynd be with you.
So far my number of landings either passenger or pilot equal my number of takeoffs, but that is due to change Smiley

Uninstall from (x86) and re-install into (C:\Programs)?  Does that really work? AND 2 (was adding an Americann Airlines texture to default 738 - all I fot in the folder was a single .dds - what needs to get put with it and from where ( if you don't mind)  the stock 738 doesn't have a "common files") and I don't have the knowledge yet to figure this out ....I hates being old.

Your Logbook.BIN file is corrupted...

In your "Documents/Flight Simulator X Files" folder, you will find a file called Logbook.BIN.  (You can search for that filename, as well).

Delete that file.  You will of course lose those previous flights, but so what.  It will be rebuilt next time FSX starts.

This is a common issue:  Apparently there is some buggy code within FSX.  You can avoid it by NEVER deleting any entries from within FSX.  Search simviation for "logbook editor".  There is a freeware utility that will allow you to make changes, additions, or deletions outside of FSX.  to reiterate:  After your flights, you should have no problem adding your text to the logbook entry from within FSX, but if you want to delete something, do it with the freeware tool.

Computers suck, don't they!!!! Smiley
