I've loaded the plane and its supposed to use the default 747 virtual cockpit. But after loading the plane, the virtual cockpit is dark, completely black except for the gauges. Any ideas?

"Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of Earth and danced the skies on laughter silvered wings. Sunward I've climbed and joined the tumbling mirth of sun split clouds.....and done a hundred things you have never dreamed of.....wheeled and soared and swung high in the sunlit silence. Hovering there, I've chased the shouting wind along and flung my eager craft through footless halls of air.

Up, up the long, delerious, burning blue I've topped the wind swept heights with easy grace where never Lark, nor even Eagle flew. While with silent lifting of mind I've trod the high untrespassed sanctity of space, put out my hand and touched the face of god"

The Dreamlifter's 'texture.BDL' folder is missing the 'texture.cfg' file so it can't find the vc textures.

Go into the Dreamlifter's 'texture' folder and copy the 'texture.cfg' file to the 'texture.BDL' folder.

At that time [1909] the chief engineer was almost always the chief test pilot as well. That had the fortunate result of eliminating poor engineering early in aviation.          Igor Sikorsky

I intend to live forever....so far, so good.         Steven Wright

You know....you can just rip up a to-do list.

Thanks Dave. Haven't been able to get back to flying her, so I haven't done much digging into the folder myself. Makes sense. I'll try it tonight. Smiley

When I unzip this plane into my simobjects file there is no texture.cfg file. Model, panel , sound, soundai folders and Texture.bdl folders yes......as well as installer and aircraft.cfg.

You don't say where you got this aircraft. The FSX update posted here works fine for me "straight out of the box" ---> http://simviation.com/1/search?submit=1&keywords=Boeing+747-400LCF+Dreamlifter&c...

...

PS. Quote:
as well as installer and aircraft.cfg.

By installer I suspect you mean the AIR file. This is not an installer so don't try to run it. (Installing Adobe AIR changes the icon & file description of FS AIR files but does not affect the actual files in any way.)
