A few miles southwest (228 degrees x 4 miles) of Kamloops, British Columbia airport (CYKA),
I came across this gigantic open pit mine. (Afton Mine)
In shots 2 and 3 I hope you can see the plane in the center of the shot! Huge!

This pit is filled with water nowdays...lawyers?

Wow....that's a pit
Very cool
"Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of Earth and danced the skies on laughter silvered wings. Sunward I've climbed and joined the tumbling mirth of sun split clouds.....and done a hundred things you have never dreamed of.....wheeled and soared and swung high in the sunlit silence. Hovering there, I've chased the shouting wind along and flung my eager craft through footless halls of air.
Up, up the long, delerious, burning blue I've topped the wind swept heights with easy grace where never Lark, nor even Eagle flew. While with silent lifting of mind I've trod the high untrespassed sanctity of space, put out my hand and touched the face of god"

Nice set Greg...there is an open pit mine about thirty miles north of here we used to fly over all the time.
They would keep the water pumps running to keep the mine dry...by doing that they created a small lake...big enought to land a Boeing 747 on...
They even had their own airstrip on top of a slag pile...
Cheers...Happy Landings...Doug

Thanks Chuck. Wonder if it's in default scenery too!

Thanks Doug. It's amazing what man can accomplish sometimes!

Great shots Greg. Thanks for the heads up, I was not aware of this one.
If God intended aircraft engines to have horizontally opposed engines, Pratt and Whitney would have made them that way.

Thank you L.T.

On top of old Smokey,
All covered with cheese,
I lost my poor meatball,
When somebody sneezed!
I wonder if I'll ever finish my plate?
Nothing makes sense anymore...
