Good morning all...
Well I always wanted to own or build one of these aircraft but it never happened....and it is too late now....
I am working on several grandson's to build one with their fathers and perhaps they will do it.
The only negative feedback is:
-when we going to get the time dad
-what is wrong with what we are flying now dad
-you got any extra cash dad
Oh well, this is a wonderful Link to read and to tell you the truth...a bit funny as well.

This second Link is more for specs...

The Canadian Volmer VJ22 I saw was beautiful, you could see yourself in the highly polished wood and the engine was an aircooled Volkswagen Beetle engine...
I know where there are two aircooled Volkswagen Beetle engines with less than ten hours on them...
Oh and yes...Stop throwing your beer bottles in the water...you could sink an aircraft...

Very cool airplane, thanks for the links! I had never heard of the VJ 22 before, but the pictures in your links jogged a memory.
I photographed this one at EAA Airventure in 2005. I had no idea what it was at the time and always meant to try and find out, but I never got around to it.

I'd love to build one myself- it's a terrific design and a relatively easy build. But there are cobwebs in my wallet...

Good morning all...
Glad that was a help to you "TacitBlue" and that is a wonderful shot.
Why not post that and whatever other seaplane or floatplane shots you have from that event in the Photo Section?
I think a lot of folks would enjoy them...
Thanks for the comment Sean...have you rolled the gliders out yet?

No, dammit...
Every time we get decent weather for the weekend, there's torrential rain a day or two before. The landing area doesn't get rolled, so we can't afford to fill it with ruts. Also not much fun retrieving the ships on wet, mushy turf. So we need to wait for a good week or so of warm, dry weather.
And so far, if it ain't too wet, it's too doggone windy.

Hi Sean...
We have had high winds, snow and freezing rain the last couple of days...but I guess this is Spring.
The lads at the bugsmasher field say there is not much difference in the heating bills from last year to this year, maybe a Hundred Dollars or so more this year.
We still have frost in the ground so no chance of ruts yet, maybe in a week if we keep getting the rains.
Last year this time we were double digits in temperature and not wearing coats...
Cheers...Happy Landings...Doug
