Hi,

I'm using an older Microsoft Sidewider joystick, and using Windows Vista. I recently had my computer sent in for minor video card repair work, and when I got it back, the joystick was no longer being detected. Reboots haven't helped, it's not showing up in the game controllers panel, and no matter how many times I replug it in within various ports, it's not detecting anything being plugged in, like it thinks the port I plug the stick into is empty. The joystick was working just fine before the computer was sent in, anyone have any ideas? Thanks!

Have you asked the people who worked on you system?

Have you plugged other USB devices into the USB ports, if so are the reconized?

Anything else I've plugged in works, I haven't been in contact with the shop yet.

Your stick must have come with a cd that contains the driver for that. If you still have the cd run it again, your drivers may have been lost during repair. Those sticks are now incompatable with a select few cards and googling that will tell you that MS has stopped supporting the old sticks. This is just a thought I've had.. as I have never had an MS Sidewinder, So take it with a grain of salt.  Wink

(Should still apply to Vista)

If it came with a CD, it's been lost long before I got this new computer and Vista. When I upgraded, I was simply able to plug it in and it worked just fine...until now, sadly.
