Looks pretty decent - we might actually get something out of this!
I went outside once. The graphics weren't all
that
great.
Burn the land and boil the sea, you can't take the sky from me.

My my, we seem to have a winner on our hands!
Now if MS can
deliver
is the real question . . .
In shot 4, I see both self-shadowing as well as soft shadows (the hangar in the middle-ground) which points to some very sophisticated programming. The only game that I can remember that utilized both would be Half Life 2, and that requires a load of mem. And it didn't include an entire changing and full planet that utilized those features. So MS has some mighty large shoes to fill when it comes to this next sim . . .

They'll have to put much efforts in the graphics anyway, because the XPlane 10 screenshots are mercyless for them. Not only XPlane 10 is showing better shadows, but it's also showing much better lighting than anything we could ever see in FS.
My guess is that MS will not release Flight before they can reach the same graphic level as XPlane 10. Releasing Flight before that would be a great mistake.
Got bloom ?
Got mountains ?
Got damage ?
