Finally found one you had not posted shots of. I just don't know if it's Snow Dog Tours or something else. But I'm pretty sure it's  one of MoCat's because of the P.O.W. flag.

Scenery is Joe Taylor's Alaska Airports. It's about half way between Grayling and Kaltag

on an island in the Yukon River, ESE of Unalakleet. It's not on any map, so I have no idea of the name.

Edited:
This has now been identified as Eagle Island, a checkpoint on the Iditarod, thanks to Kolo. Smiley

Those barrels don't give off much light at night. But they do mark the runway, if you can call it that. Roll Eyes

Back home at Unalakleet.

Thanks for looking.

If God intended aircraft engines to have horizontally opposed engines, Pratt and Whitney would have made them that way.

I love this scenery and the plane of course! Great job L.T. Pepe'  Cool

FSX, we've come a long way baby! Skunk Works is an official alias for Lockheed Martin’s Advanced Development Programs (ADP), formerly called Lockheed Advanced Development Projects. Skunk Works is responsible for a number of famous aircraft designs, including the U-2, the SR-71 Blackbird, the F-117 Nighthawk, and the F-22 Raptor. Its largest current project is the F-35 Lightning II

Thanks Pepe. Smiley

I took some shots last night at dusk, but they were just too dark and the fire in the barrels didn't show up.

Great shots.....cool sceneries Cool

"Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of Earth and danced the skies on laughter silvered wings. Sunward I've climbed and joined the tumbling mirth of sun split clouds.....and done a hundred things you have never dreamed of.....wheeled and soared and swung high in the sunlit silence. Hovering there, I've chased the shouting wind along and flung my eager craft through footless halls of air.

Up, up the long, delerious, burning blue I've topped the wind swept heights with easy grace where never Lark, nor even Eagle flew. While with silent lifting of mind I've trod the high untrespassed sanctity of space, put out my hand and touched the face of god"

Nice shots indeed, and nice choice of airplane too Smiley

About half way between Grayling and Kaltag you said ? That's in Alaska, so it must be Snow Dog Tours version 4. I have to check that place, it looks lovely  Cool
Thanks for the indications of the place.

By the way, don't you get a huge performance impact when the scenery objects get in the field of view ? I had a dramatic FPS loss during what seemed to be an "instant-loading" of the scenery each time I stop watching it and look at it again after some seconds.

However, I managed to kill this performance impact by converting the textures to DTX1. The only problem is that I used a mass-conversion tool to do that, very handy, but the program "forgets" to tilt the textures upside down, so all the textures are now inverted :/

Thanks Stephane. Smiley

I assumed it was Snow Dog, but the buildings are a bit different from most, at least the ones I've seen. Also, many are on the map/gps, but not this one. And I have been unable to find a mention of it in the readme. But as I said, the P.O.W. flag is usually a dead giveaway.

I have not noticed a hit on fps, but I will watch for it next time.

Well, it's not really a hit on FPS in fact. Once the textures are loaded, then the FPS is ok. It's the loading itself, at the very precise moment when the scenery gets visible, that cause an important freeze of the sim, despite my SSD drives :/

Now I managed to solve completely the problem though.
ConvIm (from the same site as DXTBMP) to mass convert the BMP originals to normal 32 bits 888 BMPs.
Then I used IrFanView to mass-vertical-flip all those pictures Smiley
The finally, I used again ConvIm to convert those flipped pictures to DTX1. Too bad I don't have the choice for DTX3 or something better :/ But it works, I lost a bit of details (fences not transparent anymore), but globally it's ok, and the scenery loading is not a problem anymore.

Nice shots Larry. Well if it is one of the Snow Dog Tours locations maybe we can figure which one from the bgl files.

I can see it OK if I squint a little. And I dont have a patch over one eye Grin Grin Just save it and blow it up in your Windows viewer. After I posted this I noticed that there is a list of all the locations in the read-me file. Also did you check the FSX on-board map to see if anything was indicated at that location?

Patchz, on Flying Wild Alaska, Jim Tweto lands the Cessna 180 on a small strip with water on both ends. (a few times) Any idea what the location is? I can't remember where it was and I'd like to check it out in the sim for myself.
