As opposed to the default FSX Beaver? (or did that come with Acceleration?)

I have Acceleration, and unfortunately the default Beaver is not an amphib.

As far as I know, you're looking at payware. I don't know of a freeware amphib beaver.....wish I did Embarrassed

"Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of Earth and danced the skies on laughter silvered wings. Sunward I've climbed and joined the tumbling mirth of sun split clouds.....and done a hundred things you have never dreamed of.....wheeled and soared and swung high in the sunlit silence. Hovering there, I've chased the shouting wind along and flung my eager craft through footless halls of air.

Up, up the long, delerious, burning blue I've topped the wind swept heights with easy grace where never Lark, nor even Eagle flew. While with silent lifting of mind I've trod the high untrespassed sanctity of space, put out my hand and touched the face of god"

Hi  avroarrow,

I've not added a Beaver from anywhere yet my fsx with acceleration has an amphib Beaver.

I don't know if turbo or not, not flown it.

regards

steve

I think you're mistaken Steve. The FSX default Beaver has floats but no wheels.

Hi hagar,,

OK, thought I'd seen wheels embedded in the floats.

Yeah, that one's a sneaky trick. Floats only.

By non-turbo do you mean turbine?  Non turbo usually means a normally aspirated piston engine, instead of a turbocharger or supercharger, and I was not aware the Beaver came with such an engine.

He means non-turbine. The standard DHC-2 Beaver powered by the Pratt & Whitney R-985 radial engine. http://www.bush-planes.com/DeHavilland-DHC-2-Beaver.html

Like the default FSX model only fitted with wheels.

Yes, I mean a radial engine powered Beaver as opposed to a Turbo-Beaver.

Don't own it myself, but a couple of members SimV have highly recommended it.

Definately recommend the Aerosoft Beaver.  It's a ton of fun.

About the Turbo/Turbine debate.  The turbine versions of the DeHavilland Beaver and Otter, DHC-2T and DHC-3T, and know as Turbo Beavers and Turbo Otters, even though they are not piston engines.

And the original Pratt radial in the Beaver is supercharged.  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pratt_%26_Whitney_R-985
