Well, I thought I knew how to do this but it isn't working out as I thought it would.

I want to use Blue Sky's Moving map display and the instructions tell me that I must run FS9 in a window to prevent any "windowing problem".

When I try to run FS9 in a window things just don't work out. The visuals are frozen and don't move. The airplane is flying as you can tell when you go back to full screen view and as you can tell from, the instruments but it's strictly IFR all the way.

I thought I'd be able to run FS9 in a window and the MM display in a window and switch back and forth as needed. But no joy with that.

What am I missing here?

Hi,

You'll need to check what resolution your monitor supports, when in windows mode, fs9 uses the desktop/properties settings and not the ones within fs9.

There is a setting in fs9 for pause on task switch so that fs9 pauses whilst you look at programs external to fs9, should be normal P key when you go back to fs9 to unpause it again.

Run fs9 on it's own first in windowed mode to check it out.
Update your video drivers as much as possible.

maybe somebody with the same program maybe able to help.

regards

Steve

So far my number of landings either passenger or pilot equal my number of takeoffs, but that is due to change Smiley

Hi,

If you are using Windows Vista or even System 7 you can try changing your Desktop theme to Classic.

I've tried to change my Desktop to Classic but don't know how. Please explain.

Also I've tried to adjust "properties" on my desktop but the only options I have are: General, Sharing, Security and Location. None of these seems to have any place to change the monitor.

Now what?

If you're running Vista, right click on the desktop, select "personalize", then "display properties".  You may also have an option for your vid card access there (I have the Catalyst Control Center listed along with display properties).
