My darling better half really showed me the love for what's coming up to be our 23rd Valentine's Day.
She surprised me with the Nemeth Designs SkyCrane!!!
She's a keeper!

Very cool helo...great shots U4EA. Congrats on 23 years
I've been wondering about this heli.......it looks very large and hard to manage, how does it fly and, what can you do as far as sling load and cargo?
"Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of Earth and danced the skies on laughter silvered wings. Sunward I've climbed and joined the tumbling mirth of sun split clouds.....and done a hundred things you have never dreamed of.....wheeled and soared and swung high in the sunlit silence. Hovering there, I've chased the shouting wind along and flung my eager craft through footless halls of air.
Up, up the long, delerious, burning blue I've topped the wind swept heights with easy grace where never Lark, nor even Eagle flew. While with silent lifting of mind I've trod the high untrespassed sanctity of space, put out my hand and touched the face of god"

Nice.
I have the freeware version for FS9 and I was amazed at how well it flew.
If God intended aircraft engines to have horizontally opposed engines, Pratt and Whitney would have made them that way.

Thanx Chuck!
I'll hafta report back after I do a "job" or two with it. The watertank load is a VERY touchy stick.
The sling'master' station has full flight control capability, but getting the hang of flying facing backwards is a "skill" I have yet to.......let's just say I really suck at it so far!
I may have to seek out a new insurance carrier in the near future!
I've smooshed a few things, like gearstruts and tail stuff, a number of times.

Sounds like a good time to me

That's a pretty cool looking aircraft. Nice shots. Kind of reminds me of a praying mantis.

Thanx Bob and all!
The Skycrane has been one of my favorite since I was a kid. I built a model of the Army version that had a mobile hospital pod slung under.

Hawkeye and crew would be jealous. They were always wanting to get out of there.

FSX, we've come a long way baby! Skunk Works is an official alias for Lockheed Martin’s Advanced Development Programs (ADP), formerly called Lockheed Advanced Development Projects. Skunk Works is responsible for a number of famous aircraft designs, including the U-2, the SR-71 Blackbird, the F-117 Nighthawk, and the F-22 Raptor. Its largest current project is the F-35 Lightning II

Sooooooo, the ruby/diamond heart necklace she'll get at dinner tonite should have a "healing" effect.
