Nest stop was South Beach... lots of funky old hotels in the Art Deco district, across from the beach,
A walk through the park to South Pointe- that's the downtown Miami skyline across the bay.
Had to settle for one night of (commercial) camping on Marathon Key... but the tiny and nearly-tame Key Deer roaming the place made up for a lot.
Stopped for a look at Bahia Honda on the way back up the Keys- looking north from atop a section of the old roadway/railway span between there and Spanish Harbor Key. Beautiful spot; to do primitive camping there, overlooking the beach, you have to make a reservation 11 months in advance. Maybe next year...
Winter was waiting when we passed DC into the Baltimore area, but at least it wasn't falling, as was the case driving south the first night on the road.
Plenty of snow in Newark, too... took a while to dig out a parking spot for "Lil' Bandit". She earned it- lots of hard driving, and all that went wrong was a worn front wheel bearing letting go on the second day of driving.Drove even better on the way home, thanks to new front bearings, rotors, and calipers, LOL!!
