Quote:Yes, it was the manual for the ASUS P6T Deluxe Version 2, however the manual is dated to December 2008. It was the manual from the ASUS website, here:
http://www.asus.com/product.aspx?P_ID=iRlP8RG9han6saZxSection 3.3.6, page 84, page 14 of chapter 3 aka 3-14.
I am on a crappy Gigabyte P35-DS3P (REV 2.1) as in my signature. Might be a year or more before it's replaced since I don't have the money. Donations appreciated.
NNNG,
You are so RIGHT and I am so WRONG, the ADVANCED option does not exist. I was thinking Enhanced and typed Advance. My apologies to all.
I just got my manual that came with my Motherboard and dusted it off. In Paragraph 3.3.6 Storage Configuration, you have an item called SATA Configuration (Enhanced). When you click on this it gives you three choices - either leave it at Enhanced, or select one of two other choices - Disable or Compatible. I have mine set on Enhanced. The next item on this page is Configure SATA as (IDE). When you click on this, it gives you three choices - IDE, RAID, or AHCI. If you choose either RAID or AHCI, it will force the SATA Controller to Enhanced Mode. In order to be in IDE Mode, I would first have to disable the Enhanced setting. In effect we have two choices, for the SATA Configuration either enhanced or IDE because if we did choose RAID or AHCI, they end up forcing the SATA config to Enhanced. One thing sure, it is confusing. And I admit, I don't really know what all this means other than it works well with my PC.
Happy Flying.
