As I understand it, the navigation lights on any aircraft can be displayed in two ways:

1. They can be a part of the model and if so they cannot be edited.

2. They can be called by statements in the [LIGHTS] section of the aircraft.cfg file. This is far more common.

example: light.0 = 3, -19.14, -47.24,  1.38, fx_navredm

That calls for the use of a file named fx_navredm.fx which is in your effects folder.

Any effect file can be opened and edited using Notepad but if you do so, any changes you make will be "universal" i.e. will be seen anytime that effect file is required.

The Special Effects SDK (available from MS) explains in detail what each parameter in an effect file does.

Hope that helps.

Thank you, Opa.     I had tried the .air file but without any success on light size.     I will now have a look at the 'effects' lights.

Look on this site for: "Nicks_Lightfix.zip"

Believe it will solve your problem.

Oh yeah - don't use the quotation marks
