My first few flights when I was but a wee tot were on a Gooney Bird belonging to Southern Airways.

You're Dad also with the mighty Eighth?  My stepdad was in England, near Norwich with a B17 outfit.

Yes, he was. They flew the Hump in a C-47. I don't know exactly what unit and where all they were though. He never talked about it much. But somewhere at my Mom's, there is an 8th shoulder patch I plan to hold on to.
