Goodly morning all...
Not owning an aircraft in Alaska would be like not having a pair of winter red flannel longjohns with a rear trap door...
Give me a roast of Moose, Bear or Deer (venison) over Beef or Pork anyday....
Cheers...Happy Landings...Doug

Never got a chance to try bear Doug. But a friend of the family brought back some ground Moose from a hunting trip to Canada years ago. We made Moose burgers.
I still prefer deer though.
If God intended aircraft engines to have horizontally opposed engines, Pratt and Whitney would have made them that way.

Along the way, I was invited to Indian potlatches and tried several exotic versions of local game. Beaver tail stew and Moose Nose soup to name a few. Fresh moose liver, soaked for a day or so then sliced and fried with lots of onions - yum, yum - along with a superdry Beefeater martini
.

Goodly afternoon all...
Larry forget the wild game stew or burgers...roasts are the way to go with no fancy marinate or you lose the flavour.
Dave...you sure are making me hungry...darn it...
Folks, there is no need to marinate wild game. You lose the flavour.
Cooking on a gas BBQ you might as well be cooking on an indoor gas range. Use wood chips, brickets or charcoal for all outdoor cooking. You will have a nicer flavour...try it...
The meat being wild game or domestic is much better if it can be done on a spit/rotisserie outdoors over a wood fire...awesome...just awesome...

I had my first chance to try bear this past month. We cooked it just how you described it Doug, Cooked slowly on a spit over a wood fire, no marinate (It didn't need it!). I was expecting it to be dry after 3 and a half hours of slow roasting but I was pleasantly surprised on how juicy it was!
MMmmmm....

Well, at least he wasn't eating drowned caribou.

Good morning all...
I am still mad as hell over this....
Yesterday the old girl and I renewed three of our different club memberships, it was not the renewal fee that has me hopping mad however they did go up.
The fact that when you renew a licence or club membership fee one has to pay three to five dollars each to have it plasticised...
The previous years it was always free, just another money grab me thinks...

I feel your angst Doug. It fits right in with this new 'disposable' world we live in. I, for one would like to see everything slow down and/or pause for a while, except for anything that improves health or peace, or makes things less complicated.
I just recently realized, in a lot of ways, I am becoming my Father. I finally understand where he was coming from. Wish I could have told him that before he died.

Good morning Larry...
I would bet that you are not alone Larry, a majority of fathers on this forum most likely feel the same way...
