Consider building your own.  Anyone with opposed thumbs can do it.  Half the fun is researching the various components - talent and knowledge run riot around here so pick some brains.  For $1500 you could have an exemplary rig - the envy of the whole block, and beyond Smiley.

You can do MUCH better for FSX and $1500, than that Gateway. Many times premanufactured PCs have very limited potential for growth. I understand why you might not want to build your own, but OnD is right. Dollar for dollar, building your own system is usually the best way to go. HOWEVER, if you have your heart set on one that's already assembled, have a look at these. (Newegg just started selling them)

First, just to cover my butt, let me say that I have NEVER DEALT WITH THIS COMPANY BEFORE. From the looks of it though, I'd say that these machines are pretty resonably priced and look to be made with hardware a builder would use to put his or her own machine together with.

The best of both worlds?

I really can't help you out with which would be the best for FSX, but someone here should be able to.

Keeping in mind that 'NEWEGG' is a reseller (doesn't make anything themselves) they have an excellent reputation.  All components in my recent build came from them and everything worked - no smoke  Smiley.

Yeah, Newegg is great. I meant that I've never had dealings with CyberPower pcs before. Wink

Looking at their site, first thought was how did we ever survive not having all those internal leds  Smiley.

Try here.

From the looks of things (I have no firsthand experience with either), the ATI card may yield higher frame rates in some games, but the NVidia card is said to be smoother and more "playable". Wink

I'm glad we could help. This is just my opinion, but when someone starts talking about a new "gaming machine", Gateway really isn't the first thing that comes to mind. Grin

I can't speak to the nvidia other than it seems popular and Nick says they are better for FS. The ATI is a great card for any new games, but has problems with FSX. I know, because that's what I am running. I had to add ATI Tray Tools to get rid of the jaggies as ATI CC would not do it. AVG recently nixed a Tray Tools file and I still don't have the problem solved. So if FS is your main game, I suggest nvidia. ATI, now AMD does not think there are enough people with FS to warrant them writing a proper driver for their cards.

Well sometimes I play fsx and then for a time I do not. One other graphic intense game that i play is darkspace but I haven't played that for a few months. I think i should go with the ati and remove (but not throw away) and buy the new nvidia gtx 590 it's two gtx 580 gpus

Get the GTX 580. Slightly slower than the 5970 in most games, although it should outperform it significantly in FSX.

GTX 590 isn't for sale, and when it is, it will likely be dual GTX 560 which means it will be inferior to the 580 in FSX (FSX only uses 1 GPU). GTX 580 is too power hungry to put two on a single card.

Well I really won't be able to get a computer like that because one I don't have the money being that I'm 13. But I might be able to rebuild my old Dell dimension 2400 pc. It has a Intel Pentium 4 clocked at 2.88 a 80 gb hardrive 768mbs of ram (3/4 of 1 gb). And integrated graphics. What i could do is start to buy new stuff but keep the case. Again need to be cheap any recommendations
