Hey,

I just got the Saitek rudder pedals; I have all my realism settings maxed (to realistic). Yet I notice hardly any necessity for rudder use, particularly on climbout, but also in turns. When climbing out in a Cherokee 180, for example, whereas in real life you basically ride the right rudder pedal all the way down the runway and then all the way to cruising altitude; in FSX you really don't need it at all. In turns just a tap of the rudder pedal will keep you in a coordinated turn, even at 45 degrees, whereas in a real Cherokee it takes significant rudder input.

What gives?

May depend on the addon.

Also, I've noticed that I'm doing it subconsciously now, so are you absolutely sure that you're not using those pedals?  Wink

You're right about the add-on; I'm using the Carenado Cherokee 180. What do you fly, if I may ask?

Also, I just got them yesterday, and I was watching the ball all the way on climbout. When I hit any right rudder at all the ball jumped out of center; when I don't touch it, it stays right in the middle. Huh

Just out of curiosity, take the default 172 up for a spin and see if it behaves more realistically. Again, it may be that addon.

As far as what I fly...lately it's been helicopters.  Cheesy Wink
As far as fixed wing goes, Tim Conrad has the Pilatus PC-6 Porter available which I have used a little bit...
