I suppose if it works.......
They're attaching little streamers and cardboard wings to dead mice and throwing them out of aircraft.
"Each mouse was attached to two squares of cardboard and a streamer of green paper. The streamer could be dropped from a low-flying helicopter and would catch in the upper tree branches of the jungle."

Apparently, the Pied Piper project has been scrapped.

On a serious note: I'm not an expert, but I thought that snakes only ate live prey.

Heat the little felows up a bit -- snakes can't see exceptionally well and rely on heat detection.
