Some of these Oak trees are known to be over 1000 years old.

This is the Major Oak which is believed that Robin Hood hid from his enemies iside it. Est 800-1000+ years old.

Sherwood is indeed a great place to visit. The Center Parcs there sticks you right in the middle of the forest which is very cool.


Nice shots, I never realised that was the tree, I thought it would've been a lot bigger.

Awesome tree!  I was in England last year for business and I wanted to get up to Sherwood, but time would not allow.  I saw this tree just outside the village green in the little town of Chipperfield, about 45 minutes from London.
