This is actually starting to freak me out, with the C-17, and now UPS 747-400, both taking off and banking, and both falling out the Sky shortly after take off, That makes 2 Boeing's to just fall out the Sky in 2 months doing all most the same exact thing, there has to be something that caused it.

As I understand the news today the Dubai Boeing was already 20 minutes into the flight and returning to Dubai airport because of smoke in the cockpit. Because of it's altitude it had to circle the area and crashed in between two highways.

It's probably my imagination, but does it seem like there have been an abnormal amount of large aircraft crashes lately?

That depends... what's the normal amount?
If every uneventful flight made headlines, we'd hardly notice the accidents.

I know. But I mean large airliner crashes.
