I live in a very small village on a hillside just outside of Matlock in Derbyshire UK. It's quiet and well away from any main roads..... the most dramatic thing to happen in the village lately has been the Summer carnival.
Until the other day. I'm quite used to hearing helicopters flying over as we seem to be on a regular route for one or two .... this day the noise seemed to be louder and continued for longer. I popped outside only to be greeted by the Air ambulance looking for somewhere FLAT  to land, which aint easy in a village that rises from 700-900+ feet ASL in a very short distance.













This is the second time this year the Air Ambulance has been to the village ..... I don't know why it was here the other day, but earlier in the year it was for a local farmer who had suffered a heart attack... unfortunately it proved fatal. I'm hoping that this time the outcome is more positive.
