I am just starting a flight in the Carenado Cessna 182. I was flying the first leg yesterday and was trying to use the AP, I couldn't find altitude hold though... is there altitude hold on this particular AP? Thanks!

Tim

You're right - no ALT HLD.  Back in those days, the Cessna '300' series of electronics was considered one step up from junk - who knows who made them.  King hadn't really hit their stride yet so Narco was the alternative but they were definitely better.

I cheat!... Tongue...!

I often replace (or fit) many Radio Stacks in different Aircraft with the full default Bendix-King Radio stack, which I am very familiar with, and has a full set of Nav/Com/AP/etc, radio controls... Kiss...!

...(taken from the default Beech Baron 58)... Smiley...!

The one advantage of the Flight Sims is that you can equip your Aircraft with all the latest gizmo's....at no cost!

Paul...G-BPLF...FS 2004...FS Nav...and a bit of a Radio knob-twiddler!... Wink...!

Not really...

Just copy the Panel File section for the [Radios] in the Beech Baron 58....>>>

[Window xx]
BACKGROUND_COLOR=2,2,2
size_mm=156,308
position=8
visible=0
ident=RADIO_STACK_PANEL

gauge00=Bendix_King_Radio!Bendix-King Radio Audio, 0, 0
gauge01=Bendix_King_Radio!Bendix-King Radio Nav-Comm 1, 0, 29
gauge02=Bendix_King_Radio!Bendix-King Radio Nav-Comm 2, 0, 86
gauge03=Bendix_King_Radio!Bendix-King Radio ADF, 0, 142
gauge04=Bendix_King_Radio!Bendix-King Radio DME, 0, 180
gauge05=Bendix_King_Radio!Bendix-King Radio Xpndr, 0, 217
gauge06=Bendix_King_Radio!Bendix-King Radio AP, 0, 262

...put this: // before all the existing entries for the existing Radios to preserve them...VERY IMPORTANT!!

Then replace the existing file in your Panel File with the Baron Radio Stack entry !

Match the [Window XX] to the existing one.

The call for the Radio will now show the new Baron radio stack instead of the original one!

Take care to save all your original entries!

Paul.... Smiley...!

Adding additional Gauges is also easy... Wink...!

Excellent - will give it a try.  Didn't like the mish-mash of radios in that bird either.

I love the old Bendix-King full Radio stack, (as fitted to the default Beech Baron 58), and often use it to replace any Radio stacks that I am not familiar with, or that are incomplete....(or Aircraft that don't have any Radios at all ...I told you..I cheat!).....Kiss...!

On some "simpler" aircraft it is sometimes necessary to add certain instruments (VOR/ADF/HSI/etc gauges) to allow full Radio navigation using the Radios, and sometimes a slight alterations in the "Radio" section of the Aircraft.cfg text file to allow use of the full stack.... Wink...!

The Bendix-King stack is ideal for all those Pilots interested in learning how to use Radio Navigation and the Navigation instruments, as it contains everything you wish to know!

"Have fun with a Bendix-King"... Wink...!

Paul...G-BPLF...FS 2004...FS Nav...tuning to BBC Radio 4.... Cool...!
