I'm just wondering... When I do a repaint for FS2004 is it only possible to get the image size to be 1024x1024? It just seems a bit limiting. Is it possible that I could just double the size of the actual image and then paint over it again or would this cause any issues? I don't understand how people are able to get such high quality repaints (particularly for default aircraft) given that the texture is so small.

Cheers.

The largest texture size FS9 will recognize is 1024X1024.

You can certainly blow up your textures to increase detail, but will lose some of it when you resize back down to 1024.

Are you sure your seeing FS9 pics and not FSX. With FSX you can go to 4096 and get incredible detail.

Also, to get the most detail in FS9 save your textures as 32bit and not DXT. That will save you losing detail from file compression.

cheers,
Joe

Don't argue with idiots, they drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.
