Ok, I bought this stick about a year ago, worked fine until someone dumped tea on it Roll Eyes then the buttons wouldn't work, so I took it apart, cleaned it, and put it back together, all the buttons worked fine, but when I put it back together, I didn't do something right and now the rudder has two problems, 1, it is off center (when it is pointing straight, in FSX it is pointing left, when it is to the right, in FSX it is centered.) Already tried calibrating it to no avail, 2, there is no pressure on the rudder, the rudder stays where you move it, doesn't go back to neutral. I wouldn't mind #2 if I could just get it to work, I have put it together about 4 times and it still is to the left, I can't figure it out. Any help would be very much appreciated as I can't by a new stick anytime soon, I'm using my old MS sidewinder for the time being.  Grin

Sounds like you didn't get parts together properly.

Reference to 'left' and 'right' are when looking at the joystick in playing position. Mine is a Wingman Xtreme, but should be the same or similar.

Problem 1 is the 'pot' which sits a-top the white pillar.  There is  the 'wishbone' protrusion on the pot, opposite the wires. This should point to the left and fit into a pocket in the left handle half.

Problem 2 is the coil torsion centering spring at the base of the white pillar. It should point to the right. The spring ends should be compressed (drawn past each other) until they fit down along either side of the white verticle tab on the right side of the spring mount flange. (When done right, (compressed) the ends should be parellel. If not (expanded) the ends will be splayed, and the spring will pop out of place on its own.) This should put the spring ends in the proper position to straddle a pocket in the right handle half.

When assmembling the handle, first fit the left half firmly in place, making sure the pot wishbone is properly fitted in the pocket. Make sure the wishbone is in the pocket, not straddling one of the sides as that will break the wishbone. (I speak from experience   Embarrassed  )   Cheesy

When assembling the right half,  keep the twist centered and the spring should find its place.

Good luck...  Smiley

Sorry 'bout the focus, but shows the correct position of the spring.  The blue appendage on the pot is where the wishbone is ('was'...in my case   Wink ). Behind it you can faintly see the pocket it should fit in.

Tim,

One more thought, if it isn't to late.

If you had the pot off the pillar: If I remember right it sits on a square pin, so possibly could be re-mounted 90* off. This could account for it being 'off-center' in the sim. Make sure the pot is at center of rotation when the wishbone is pointed to the left.
