Hi,
I just ordered a new computer system, as mine has been maxed out (CPU, RAM, Video, etc....for some time now). I ordered the world as far as CPU, RAM, Video etc.....
I have a 24" monitor coming but I know that Flight Sim FSX and FS9 both support the use of multiple monitors. I'm leaning towards trying this.
I was wondering first what I need to connect and or use multiple monitors and curious as to what others are using and how they configure and use this type of setup. I interested in anything concerning this, good/bad, tips, set ups, anything.
Thanks,
Tim

Currently I am using my 42" Panasonic plasma TV as the primary and only display for FS2004, at a resolution of 1920x1080p, via an HDMI connection.
While I was experimenting, I did briefly tried my 19" TFT monitor as a secondary display and I noticed no particular issues, but since the display size is too different and the TFT is too far away from the TV set anyway, I decided to use just my TV.
It'd be great to use a three display set to enhance the peripheral view, as I believe many users here do.

I thought others were using multiple monitors. I just need to know what I need hardware wise, cables etc...to set that up. I'm thinking of getting two smaller wideview monitors to enhance the periphery, but don't know how to do it.
Also I was thinking about the "other" methods of connection, but know nothing about them. Right now it's set up for VGA, but has the capability for HDMI or DVI. What are the pros/cons for performance/graphics of these alternate connections? I know the cables aren't cheap!

VGA is analog while DVI is digital, and HDMI is high definition digital (and can drive audio as well as video).
Modern video cards can drive up to (I think) 3 displays without the need of additional hardware (mine for example has 2 DVI and 1 HDMI outputs).
As I wrote elsewhere, you need a 1080p grade cable to use the "fullHD" resolution (1920x1080 non-interlaced) and those cost about 30 euros here (for a 2 meters cable).
