Hi,

Have got an old pc with an ms-6577 mobo.

I bought 2 1gig pc2700 RAM sticks used from eBay, but the BIOS recognises both of them as 32meg. I did check with the seller first, and did some research to ensure they were compatible, but they don't show the full 2gig.

Any suggestions?

what is the memory you installed? Like model or something?
Also is this your mobo?

Yup, that's the one. Crucial system scanner says it will support max 2gig, and I checked the memory was the same non ECC pc2700 DDR2 SDRAM 333mhz as the existing. I'm fairly certain the memory is.  The right stuff, but do I need to do anything in the BIOS to recognise it?

that I do not know(about BIOS)
I recently installed new ram and did not have to do that.
Do you have another motherboard you can try that ram on?
If not, it may be defected.
