Cooperative Hoplist Creation Idea (Read 365 times)

I've been tossing this idea around in my head for a while, and hesitated due to the fairly large amount of collective user participation that it would require in order to work well.
If we can get a fair amount of user participation....

My idea revolves around:

--Member hometowns, and the hometowns of a member's top 2 or 3 bands/singers.

It would involve a member here giving me the following info:

1. Either their current hometown or their city/town of birth.

2. The hometown/city-origin of two (maybe three) bands/singers that they really enjoy.

I would then compile those locations and try to craft a hoplist out of them.
As you can see, in order for this to work well, it would require a fair number of users to contribute.
Each leg of the tour posted here would spotlight that member (optional if the member is very private) and info on their town. If it applies to a band/singer, the leg info posted here would spotlight the town and details of the band featured.

The length of time that you would have to give me this info would probably last for a while.
If there is interest, this hypothetical hoplist is not going to be seen on the server for possibly a few months yet due to the large Alaska/PNW one not being up yet.

So, is there any interest? No need to submit the info now, but if you at least have an interest, just post here saying so.

Thanks,

-Sean.

Could work if like you said there would be enough people contributing. Problem is that not everyone has an airfield in town (or anywhere near). I imagine most cities/towns in the US have one but overhere in Europe? Nah... we're happy that we have plumbing.

It's an interesting concept. The problem I see is that these hops will be totally random and all over the place. In multiplayer flying, I don't know if that would turn out as fun as the short hops around a specific area of interest.

Cool

Hello, Sean... Smiley...

Like Brando, I rather enjoy our flight-planned Hops in a particularly interesting area in a part of the World, to admire the spectacular scenery.
Timed to last between half and hour and an hour in duration.... Smiley...!

Fair points, and expected responses all around.
Kind of figured it would be worth a shot, but I am in agreement that it looks to be beyond feasible at this time.  Wink

Thanks for the input.  Smiley
