Been knocking around some design ideas since I am always looking for more SPEED in a small package!  Twenty one feet from nose to the tip of the tail in this case...
I have not started a new AIR file for this one yet, but since I want the image on the screan to reflect what is in the AIR and the CFG files, this design may still be in for heavy mods.
Therefore I am looking for input to design, and pointers on things I may have overlooked.  The gear tucks in flat right behind the wing and beside the engines.
These images are screan caps from GMax.
Thanks
Harold

Cool! Just a suggestion, but that would look great with swing wings!  Cool

nice....seems as streamlined as you can get....i imagine long landing gear....is there such a thing as a virtual wind tunnel?

If there isn't, I'm sure some super smart programming genius can and probably will make one at some point. You may be the first to think of it. This is exactly how great ideas start.  Smiley

BTW, nice Harold. Looks interesting.  Smiley

If God intended aircraft engines to have horizontally opposed engines, Pratt and Whitney would have made them that way.

the virtual wind tunnel that you speak of, is between the ears of the pilot in that plane.  (sees a blonde female sitting behind the controls)  Cool

> "is there such a thing as a virtual wind tunnel? "

There is...  From what I read, X-Plane's simulation is so good that real aircraft design students use the game engine to test their designs, and the FAA has certified real flight simulators using X-Plane's game engine to run them.

At this point I am still trying to finish the Swift (My logo) for FS2004, before beginning to convert it for FSX.  Then there is this new aircraft, then after all that, it would be cool to see if they really do fly in X-Plane , but that would take learning a whole new SDK for that game and making new models.  I do have to work sometime though.

>”I'm thinking thrust-vectoring!”
That would be cool, but as far as I know, there is no tag in the SDK for giving a vector to the thrust.  I have been all through the info for the CFG files and have not found anything.

>“But I hafta ask......is the pilot gonna be as "accesorized" as the lady drivin' the Swift?”
What a laugh!
U4EA, do you like that level of “accesorization” or what’s your preference?
I have made a bunch of new versions of the Swift (but have not uploaded these yet since I am trying to finish off the switches in the VC).  Those new versions also come with additional pilots with various levels of "accesorization” , all smaller but one.   Hope you enjoy the screen caps.
Harold
Ps: I don’t think I’ll include the one on the far end.

OK,OK, I was bored when I did these.

Harold, you cad!  How nice to see you (hurumph!) branching out (cough!) from the aircraft themselves!

Don't forget that all of the sims in the world are actually nothing more than very pretty wind-tunnel testing ranges (with very limited dynamics).  If an aircraft works when accurate airfiles are used, it is usually fit for larger testing.
