The shipyard is almost finished building the CCGS Louis St-Louis as an AI ship. I would like to add a hardened surface at the rear so helicopters may be deployed from the ship. I understand there is an xml "blurb" that can be added when compiling for FSX, however this will be used in FS2004 as well. Wondering if it is possible to do such a thing in the earlier sim. Also wondering if anyone might have an "fde" that they might wish to share, as the only one I have is for fighter aircraft (this certainly isn't in that league). Finally, if anyone knows the name of the program used to create AI ship traffic, I'd be appreciative for any info.

I can't answer the FSX question, as I haven't learned to design for that sim yet.  But as to FS9, you're out of luck.  You can make landable surfaces OR mobile scenery, but not both, in my experience.  You could try asking over in the forums on FSDeveloper.com and see if they can come up with a better answer for you.

Thanks for the info, particularly that last link. Will check it out and post an update on how it all goes.
