Introducing my latest big bundle of joy!
Douglas DC4....
...!
FS 2004 on a clear day...
...!
Parked up at Paso Robles (KRPB) Airport, California, near Highway 101.
A nice alternative to my Beech Baron 58, but with four very thirsty 14 cylinder, Pratt and Whitney Radial motors...
...!
A joy to fly, with a nice (2D) instrument panel, enhanced with some of my extra bits and bobs!...
...!
A speedy 250 knots full bore, when gas consumption is no object, and someone else is paying for it!
Attracted to her following the Douglas DC4 used in the new TV series "Ice Pilots" located in the snow fields of Canada.
Yellow Knife
Reasonable short-field take off and landings, with care.
She is a real beaut....trust me!....
...!
Paul...G-BPLF...FS 2004...FS Nav...and four juicy radials!...
...!
Excellent, free Scenery add-on for Paso Robles!...
...!
P.S. ..she is a Tricycle, which I find easier to manage than a Tail-dragger DC3...
...!
Dell Dimension 5000 BTX Tower. Win7 Home Edition, 32 Bit. Intel Pentium 4, dual 2.8 GHz. 2.5GB RAM, nVidia GF 9500GT 1GB. SATA 500GB + 80GB. Philips 17" LCD Monitor. Micronet ADSL Modem only. Saitek Cyborg Evo Force. FS 2004 + FSX. Briggs and Stratton Petrol Lawn Mower...Motor Bikes. Gas Cooker... and lots of musical instruments!.... ...!
Yamaha MO6,MM6,DX7,DX11,DX21,DX100,MK100,EMT10,PSR400,PSS780,Roland GW-8L v2,TR505,Casio MT-205,Korg CX3v2 dual manual,+ Leslie 760,M-Audio Prokeys88,KeyRig,Cubase,Keyfax4,Guitars,Orchestral,Baroque,Renaissance,Medieval Instruments.

Those four engines sure will help flying faster than a DC3
How the handling in flight ? I would imagine she is more powerfull, but also heavier than the DC3, isn't she ?
Nice shot by the way
Got bloom ?
Got mountains ?
Got damage ?

She is a sprightly old Bird, and surprising stable in flight..(a nice .air file).
Just got to get used to the height of the cockpit above ground, when landing!...
...!
A bit heavy on take off, and a slow rate of ascent to clear the tree-tops, but once levelled out and fully trimmed, she is a Formula One racer!...
...!
Landing speed around 80 knots with full flaps, and a good set of brakes brings her to a standstill quite quickly!
Paul...G-BPLF...FS 2004...FS Nav...and a Bowser full of Avgas...
...!

Hello Apple...
..!
The DC4...>>>

...and the 2D Cockpit Panel. (Replaces the default DC3 Panel)...>>>
http://www.surclaro.com/fs2004-panels_c25_310_dateD.html
I have also added all sorts of extra, very useful gauges to the Panel for my use, and changed some of the key assignments......as I do!...
...!
Paul...G-BPLF...FS 2004...and a tool kit, for drilling holes in panels!...

Nice Paul.
That is a cool web site. I watch a lot of good stuff on the History Channel, have to check that out.
If God intended aircraft engines to have horizontally opposed engines, Pratt and Whitney would have made them that way.
