Ok, so I have SDK, ADE, and FSUIPC. Can someone give me a very basic instruction as to how to use these tools? I've been trying to play around with them to no luck. I posted a problem I've been having with ADE but no one has really been able to answer it. I am brand new at this whole scenery design thing and I need someone to speak to me in idiot-proof terms (preferably in a PM.) Thank you all in advance.

This is the problem with the error of being away from the airport?

Can you confirm which version of ADE you are trying to use.  Sorry if you have told us that but I cannot always keep track of things....

Hi Scruffy

Yes, the error is with being away from the airport. I am updated using 1.47.07.

OK and this is for FSX?  You have FSUIPC4 installed into FSX?  You start ADE and open an airport?  You start FSX and open the same airport?  You connect ADE to FSX and it tells you that you are more than 65Nm away?

If you can just confirm that for me again then I will check the code and see how this might happen in 1.47

Yes that is correct. I even re-installed FSUIPC and got the same result.

Please email me to jon AT scruffyduck.co.uk and I will send you a test version with the out of range function turned off - perhaps you can then get connected and we can see where your user aircraft is in relation to ADE.

I had several problems with ADE myself (can't remember the exact nature of them, except that some of the problem was with FSUIPC) and what I did was actually use a different program called FSX Planner, which essentially does the same thing. I found it was much smoother getting it all working and it has a really good User Interface. If you're interested it can be downloaded here: http://www.zbluesoftware.com/fsxplanner/index.cfm

And if you're getting there with ADE just ignore this Wink

I downloaded FSX Planner. It seems a bit easier to use, but ADE seems to have more features and options. Maybe I just need to play around with it more.

I did send FLLflyboy a version of ADE that should stop the issue of distance error.  I have not received any response as to whether it worked.
