i feel like i went back in time
Carriers would be so mush easier to land on if they would just stop turning!!!

The first shot is very cool. Does the runway intersect the road at the end? That's not something we see very often here. I don't think many people will be running that red light.

no there is a ramp to take the seaplanes out of the water they take down a little truck with a lift that goes between the floats when they pull it to the maintenance area they have to cross a road... that is right by the YVR seaplane terminal... just across the road from the south terminal.
Carriers would be so mush easier to land on if they would just stop turning!!!

That airport might not have a runway crossing a road, but this one does.

Great shots...wonderful....
If it was an Amphibious Aircraft they would just taxi up the ramp and onto the ramp area. I believe the lights can be controlled by the Ground Controller like they are here. Someone at maintenance might have control of the lights as well and perhaps radio communications with the Amphibious Aircraft unless they have a designated Ramp Controller for parking Amphibious or Float Aircraft. Have seen that as well.

Just to the left - The Flying Beaver - one of my favorite places... especially in the summer.... sit out on the patio and have a burger and a few beers and watch the floatplanes all day....
