Yep, Pi R^2 would just be the area of a whole pie, not so good.
Segments and volumes of objects does have its' uses after all then.

LOL, I pulled that "Pie are round" thing on the math instructor at my trade school. In all seriousness, I love pie and mathematics involving pi always cause me to distract myself by thinking about pie and so I have trouble solving the problem.
