Some items like hangars, jetways, ground equipment, trees, etc, disappear when leaving & pop up again on approach.  This is new & I've not altered anything as all has been well until 2 days ago.

I wondered if it was a graphics problem so this morning I uninstalled all ATI software & installed the lastest Catalyst Control Centre & graphics drivers, but this hasn't solved the problem.

The only thing out of the ordinary I've been doing is  constructing a small airfield with Afcad 2 & Instant Scenery, but I can't see how this can effect the overall Sim ?    I did notice however that after a week's work, the trees I'd placed started to vanish & reappear.  Until then they stay stayed planted.

I've removed the airfield I'm working on but the problem is still there.

If anyone can suggest what might be causing this I'd be very happy to hear from them.

Its something which happens to my own designed scenery using my LAGO FSSE/FSE and Ez-Scenery design programs.

During the scenery design I specify how far away the objects appear and disappear when approaching and leaving them.

This ensures they do not take up any unnecessary memory, screen loading, etc, when I am not in the immediate area...Wink..!

Right but this is UK2000/FlyTampa/Cloud9 which I've had for ages & this is the first time this disappearing act has happened - it started yesterday.    My own small production didn't do it until yesterday & I'm not skilled enough in any case to build-in viewing distances!   I used Afcad2 & Instant Scebnery.   As I've said - this started yesterday........ Embarrassed

This may well be a heat related issue - unless of course you recently made changes to your FS9.cfg display settings.

When is the last time you opened your computer case and gave to innards a really good cleaning with compressed air - not with the household vacuum?

If your video card has it's own fan and a shroud, carefully remove the shroud and clean that area especially well.  Tis amazing how much gunk accumulates there.

Even if this does not solve your display issue, a clean computer is a happier computer.

I have air & will clean but this machine's only 6 months old!  I can feel cold air blowing from it too.   I've not editing the cfg either.......I'll blow & get back. Cool

I've given the interior a blow out (I thought it looked very clean - that just built look) & a bit of dust appeared & drifted away but the problem persists & is worse.   Ground equipment disappeared behind me as I went down the runway at Gatwick.
