Hello there, I just upgraded my hardware and formatted my PC in order to instal Win7 64bit.

I installed FSX (acc pack) then I installed the plugins Mytraffic2010 and UTX Europe.

My Hardware configuration is:
OS: Win7 home premium 64bit
CPU: i7 920 oc 3.4GHz
MB: Asus P6T SE
RAM: 2x2GB RAM Mushkin 1333MHz (I'm waiting for the 3rd bank)
GPU: MSI Nvidia GeForce GTX260 oc (Driver Version: 8.17.11.9621)
HHD: 2xWD CaviarRE3 ride0
Monitor native resolution: 1680x1050

DirectX 11 installed but ingame i'm not using Dx 10 preview.

Once I installed and configured everything I tried FSX (using more or less the ingame configuration suggested by NickN) but Frame rate was quite low i.e. landing at at CDG airport in Paris frames/sec were from 5 to 13  Embarrassed

So I tried to follow the whole NIckN guide to increase a few my framerate, sadly nHancer doesn't seem to control FSX config. What can I do? And, in any case, are there other ways to increase my pc performances according with my hardware?

Thanks in advance for any reply, for any advice and, of course, for your time.

I post some screenshots: the first and the second show my nHancer configuration, the 3rd one shows the difference in FSX with ingame AA disabled/enabled. this difference imo means that nHancer is not controlling FSX.

......

...

Edit: I was referring to this guide: http://www.simforums.com/forums/forum_posts.asp?TID=29041&PN=1

Well, at least I'm not the only one, in italy we use to say "mal comune, mezzo gaudio" Smiley.

BTW, what about the other settings in nHancer? Is nHancer controlling FSX config in your case or not?

I test AA cuz it's one of the most visible effects, if AA is not working i think that the whole nHancer is not working. Undecided

I had this problem also. I think it's a bug with nvidia drivers when they don't automatically activate the driver profile. A workaround manually activating a driver profile from within nhancer by going...: TOOLS------>ACTIVATE PROFILE---->MS FLIGHT SIMULATOR X. This will make the required settings work for all 3d applications, so you probably want to change the driver settings back to default after you exit FSX.

Hello and thanks for your reply.

I tried this way, checking the box in nHancer to let the profile being manually activable and then activing the FSX profile just before/during FSX ... but I see no results anyway ...  Embarrassed

I just retried but, as always, nothing new!  Sad

Put me too in the 'confused by Enhancer' column.  As Nick has said, it has no specific start or stop so I've never been sure it's really running.  This I do know, without ingame AA 'on', it's jaggy time.

Make sure that Enhance in Game AA Settings tab is unchecked, and it should work then.

Hi Glen and thanks for your reply... BTW I posted the screenshots of my nHancer config, and the box you're referring to is unchecked in both profile and global settings ...   Undecided

unless there are other settings of the same kind that I have to uncheck somewhere else... in this case let me know and I'll try.

Very strange. I was having the same problem when I came upon this thread and saw about the override settings thing. Did that and it fixed mine. BTW im running Nhancer 2.5.7. Don't know if that makes a diff.

Enhance ingame AA unchecked and 2.5.7.  Was reading a thread on another forum and they're pretty disenchanted with NHancer and going back to NVidia control panel settings.

I'm sure you could get some answers here:

http://forum.nhancer.com/showthread.php?t=1667

Apparently Grestorn have plans for a new UI for nHancer!

This might be a hugely oversimplified answer, but I do notice in the nhancer images you posted, you have the "MS Flight Simulator X" highlighted in the application list , whereas in Nick's instructions it specifically says to manually type "Flight Simulator X" into the entry box right under "Profiles" and then enter the settings. Perhaps it could be that simple?

See: http://www.simforums.com/forums/uploads/20090507_002936_Nh1.jpg

As for whether nhancer is working or not, I, too, find it odd that there isn't a "save" option where you know your settings are saved and in use, but when I look at my task manager, I do see that "nHancerService" is listed in my processes.

Thanks for your replay.

TBH before posting I tried a lot of times and in many different ways I tried also to manually type "Flight simulator X" and also to manually active the profile, but the result was the same...  Sad

In any case I think that as long as FSX.exe is the executable file associated with the profile it doesn't matter how you write the name of the profile.

With nothing better to do (retired), I brought up Nick's SimForum post and carefully went through his NHancer instructions again.  Whatever I did was good 'cause I'm now jaggy free with ingame AA disabled - using 2.5.7.
