Hi Doug
The auto installer does not show FSX directory.
When I type in FSX/SimObjects/Airplanes it will not recognize that and asks if I want to create a directory?

I am not sure if I should say yes or no because the directory already exists on C drive.
Program files>Microsoft Games> Microsoft Flight Simulator X> SimObjects>Airplanes

Is that how I should type it in and then say yes to create new directory?

The installer was set up for FS9. It would be best to redirect it to a Temp folder anywhere on your hard drive & then install the files manually. However, if you wish to install it direct to FSX this one will do no harm. Direct the install to your FSX root directory, NOT SimObjects\airplanes.

No need to type anything to extract to an existing folder. From this screen click on the ... button to the right of the path box.
...

Then navigate to the folder you wish to extract to. My FSX root directory is C:\FSX so :-
...

Click OK & then Next.
...

After install is finished go to your FSX directory & open the folder named Aircraft. Move the folder named GA C46 to SimObjects\airplanes.

Thanks Doug shall have a go at it.   Smiley

Will try a flight much later though as still a few things to do.

We have a very nice day here so before this sun turns our field too soft for flight the old girl wants to do a few more flights.   Smiley

Will let you know how I make out with the C46 later.

Again thanks for all the help.   Smiley

Hi Doug

Will post this question in the FSX section right here.

The C46 is downloaded with the fix that came with it and it does work.

Several problems.

1-right blue nob for RPM can not be adjusted only the left one works

2-guages are very difficult to read

3-underside of aircraft shows cargo in one of the views

Aircraft seems to fly ok but to operate it correctly I need to find a solution to these problems which I shall post next.

Thanks for your help Doug, perhaps this beast is just not meant to work in FSX.   Grin

Glad you got it installed Doug. I think any problems with it stem from it being an FS9 aircraft that works in FSX rather than an FSX native model. The Setup.exe installer file was last updated in March 2007. This was before FSX SP1 was released so it's surprising it works as well as it does. I note from the Readme that this is the author's first FS model with the help of very experienced developers from the community. Unless he updates it properly for FSX or someone creates a new one I think this is the best you will get.

From the file name this gauge was created specially for the C-46. It's in the old GAU format & was last modified in 2005 long before FSX was released. I haven't tried it in FS9 yet to see if both levers work. It's possible there's an update for it. You could always contact the author.

Goodly morning Doug... Smiley

Thanks for all the help and you are probably right about it not being configured for FSX.

Well at least we got the Tiger Moth working.  Will spend some time with it later.   Wink
