Welcome to the new season of formula one.
Bahrain kicks off the season this year.
Those familliar know the routine, all predictions to be in before the start of Saturday qualifying please.
Those who are new to the game, you get 10 points if you select the correct driver in the correct place, you get 5 points if you get the correct driver but in the wrong place.

There has been a suggestion that we pick the top 6. I am opening it up to public decision. If you all are happy to do that then we shall. Otherwise we can keep it as the podium as in previous years.
Good luck all, I'm sure there are at least a few of you rather anxious to see me not winning this year. Wink Grin

I don't think the top 6 is a good idea ......... However I did make the suggestion at the end of last season to give extra bonus points if you match
exactly
the top 3 on the grid after qualifying... irrelevent of the finishing position in the race.

I think in one race last season I had as my prediction the exact grid position but the race finished in a completely different order.

eg Grid 123 = Hamilton, Massa, Alonsso = 5 bonus points for the exact match of all 3... but the race might finish Massa, Hamilton, Alonsso giving 20 points for the race. Alternatively none of them might finish but you still get the bonus points. Disqualification and grid penalties will make the bonus void and with some penalties being held till the next race  the predictions for that race will have to take into account that penalty in order to get the points .

I like just the three, and Eno's idea.

How about also picking the highest finishing of the rookie teams in each race, since there are so many this year? Make it worth an extra point.

Maybe we should have a sweep stake to see how long it takes the Cheating Kraut to get beck into his old ways or if he can produce a win in the pit lane again  Grin

I like Eno's idea of bonus points for predicting the top 3 qualifiers, 5 points is enough though. This is, after all, a competition to predict the race positions.
