anybody know how to remove the underwing tanks from an aircraft ? Specifically the TA-4J by K. Ito ! What program do I need , or can it be modified ?

It's not possible as it is hard-coded into the model.

the only possible way that you can do it, is if you can get your hands on the program that K. Ito used to build the plane (Gmax for example), AND his source codes (blueprints) when he built the plane... that is if he still even has them.

You cannot remove them without the source file, BUT you can make them invisible. You should be able to 'alpha them out'. I suggest taking the question over to the Aircraft Repainting forum for the best instructions on how to do it.

You can only aplha them out if the model parts are set for transparency which if they were you might still see them as transparent object.
You really need the source files for this.

Ok, I have my source code… but how do you drop drop-tanks in FS9? I have not come across a part name for drop-tanks in the SDK, and would the game engine just make them vanish, or could you animate them to tumble away from the aircraft? Also, if there were still fuel in them, would the game adjust the fuel quantity to reflect the discarded amount, and also adjust the aircraft weight?
It would be cool to drop this tanks...
